Krypton v0.99c

The Adventure Begins !

Distributed the 7th of october 2004.
Developped by Pascal MARTIN aka Squale92.
For TI-89 (including TI-89 Titanium), TI-92+, and V200.

Note 1 : The screenshots which are here presented all come from a TI-92+, to be larger than on TI-89.

This version can be considered as a pre-final one.
I can not be considered as responsible for whatever problem this program can cause on your calculator, you, your dog, or anything you can imagine.
Use it at your own risks.

I:\ Presentation of Krypton :

This game is a shoot'em up, in the style of XenonII (which was running on my very old Amstrad PC1512) from which I have tryied to take ideas.
This game is fully on-calc compatible between TI-89 and TI-92+ (The executable files ans data's ones are exactly the same !!! Only the on-PC extension is modified), and runs in full-screen mode on the two models.
It has been developped in C with TIGCC.
This game is compressed with the Exepack (PPG) technology, which is included in TIGCC and in the TICT-Tool-suite (directory "compressed"), and is also distributed non-compressed, in the directory "uncompressed".

There are, in this game (as in XenonII), two possibilities to upgrade your equipment :

Here's a little screenshot of the "Buy" part of the shop :

These two methods are made to be simultanely used, in order to get a great fire power, which is necessary to live, and to progress in the game.

The game is composed of five levels, and each one finishes with a final Boss. The three first levels are quite long, and the two others are short... but very hard !
A three levels differential scrolling is used as background, and the game's engine is able to make lots of ennemies run, and handles many weapon's kind of various power, depending of what you sell or which power-up you caught.

II:\
Launching the Game :

This program has been developped in Nostub mode, what means it doesn't require a kernel (like UniversalOS or PreOS) to run. However, it is made to run without any problem even if a recent kernel is installed on the TI (If you install a kernel, I personnaly recommand you PreOS, which is the only on to be up to date).

To use it, you must have on your TI :

Or, if you use the uncompressed version :

To launch Krypton, you have to send the files on your calculator, and to launch the one with the .ASM extension (warning : the file with the .ppg extension must be in the current folder, if you use the compressed version).

Warning : you must have a lot of free RAM in order to launch the game without any problem (more than 120 kB !).

III:\ How to Play :
To Play Krypton, use the following keys :

Notes :

IV:\ The future :

This game is no longer in developpement... It means that I don't have the intention to work on it anymore : I've got other projects, which interrest me much more.
One of them is the following of this game, and will be called "KryptonII : FireStorm". It is already well begun when I write these lines...I don't really know when I'll have enough time to finish it (my studies are more important than programming on TI, in my opinio), but, don't be affraid, it will be released one day or another.
I also have some others ideas of projetcs, some of them for TI... but I won't speak about them here :-)

If you have found a bug, thanks for reporting it, with saying which model of calculator you get (TI-89 ou 92+, HW, ROM), if a kernel is installed or not (if yes, which one, and which version), and, if possible, the circumstances of this one, the more precisely possible.
